Crossover Australia

Crossover Australia brings together accomplished Australians from a variety of disciplines who are interested in applying their practice across platforms and who want to explore interactivity across screen based mediafor five days. The goal of Crossover Australia 2009 is to get innovative interactive projects funded and produced in Australia. There are a number of possible production funding avenues for material developed through Crossover Australia - for example, the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund, Film Victoria, Screen Australia, the Australia Council as well as broadcasters and the commercial financing sector.'

Like the projects it aims to create, Crossover Australia is an immersive, interactive experience. It will bring together a group of experienced creative, energetic, intellectually curious people and provoke them to swap ideas, to teach and inspire each other, to brainstorm and collaborate.

In the end, what the participants bring to the table - their strengths, insights, and talents - will shape and transform the workshops.

The ultimate goal of Crossover Australia is to get projects produced. Some projects will be conceived to reach a wide audience and have strong commercial potential, while some will take greater creative risks, relying on alternate production funds.

Previous Crossover Australia incubators held in 2003 and 2007 saw a range of projects and teams successfully conceived, developed and in some cases produced and delivered. These include:
